St Justin Pewter - Nearly Home Trees Brooch

The back of the brooch is embossed with the Duchy of Cornwall shield and bezants.

The Nearly Home Trees, or Coming Home Trees are very significant to everyone from Cornwall.  They represent a stand of trees, otherwise known as Cookworthy Knapp.  Anyone who has ever been in and out of Cornwall on the A30 will recognise them.  They stand to one side of the A30 just before the bridge over the River Tamar, on the Devon side.  Thus when you see them you are nearly home.
